Free Workshops for Private Schools Grades K-12 in Reading and Writing Day 2
This topic focuses on the application of English-language arts standards to various content areas such as social studies, science, or mathematics. Participants will learn how to develop reading and writing activities for their specific subject matter areas, incorporating California State Standards, as well as subject-specific strategies to improve reading and writing skills in the content areas.
This workshop will be presented by team members working with the California Writing Project (CWP). Since 1973, the CWP has had as its central mission “to improve student writing and learning by improving the teaching of writing.” The CWP is a collaborative, statewide network of classroom teachers and university scholars that provides quality, standards-based professional development in language and literacy instruction to ensure that every student is academically prepared to finish high school ready for college and career. CWP provides year-round professional learning and leadership development opportunities, creates instructional and assessment resources, generates research, and builds partnerships between universities and schools and connections between schools and communities.
There is NO COST to attendees! Please bring your own snacks, lunch, and beverages.
